Also known as thrush, this is a common fungal infection that can affect anyone. It can make the genital area itchy, sore, and sometimes cause unusual discharge. Yeast infections are usually harmless but they can be uncomfortable and keep coming back. Yeast infections are often easy to treat with antifungal medications available from pharmacies. It is not classed as a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
