From Monday 1st April 2019 sexual health services in Sutton are moving

Sexual Health Sutton is changing... We are excited to announce that from Monday 1st April 2019 we will be hosted by Sutton Health and Care who will take responsibility for community services in Sutton, this includes contraception and sexual health services, caring for adults in their own homes across the borough and providing children’s therapy services.

What does this mean?

This means that Sexual Health Sutton will be delivered by a new healthcare provider.

What is Sutton Health and Care?

Sutton Health and Care is an alliance between Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, the London Borough of Sutton, Sutton GPs and South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust.

What will happen to the sexual health service?

In order to improve the sexual health services the clinics at Green Wrythe Lane will be relocating. There will no longer be a walk-in clinic at the health centre at Green Wrythe Lane Clinic. All our sexual health clinics, including our walk-in clinics and pre-booked appointments will now take place at The Rosehill Clinic at St Helier Hospital and the Jubilee Health Centre, Shotfield. All clinics and staff have transferred to the new locations.

Bringing the contraception service to St Helier Hospital and managing them alongside the hospital’s sexual health service is another step forward in providing integrated services and will allow us to further improve the care and support we are offering to local people.

You will be able to access a full range of sexual health and contraception services at one location.  Improving services at Jubilee Health Centre will improve access for those living nearer to Wallington. Both sites have excellent transport links and are close to the town centre.

The department at St Helier is being refurbished, so we will be able to offer improved care in a better environment. The service, as part of the partnership, will also benefit from closer links to mental health and GP services.

We aim to offer a fully integrated sexual health service at times and locations to suit the needs of all residents of Sutton and neighbouring boroughs. We look forward to continuing to provide an excellent service.

How will Sutton Health and Care improve my health and well-being?

Sutton Health and Care is a pioneering partnership that will help us to remove the boundary lines between the organisations that provide care to people in their homes, in GP surgeries and in hospitals. Health, social and community care services across the region have always been united in the mission to provide great care to the people who need us, and it’s on those grounds that the Sutton Health and Care partnership was brought together – we want local people to receive the care that they need in the right environment. Bringing together our expertise will allow us to improve patient care and will enable local people to access the right support, care and treatment more easily than ever before.
