Keeping the baby
If you are pregnant and have decided to keep the baby you will need to arrange antenatal care. To do this you need to register that you are pregnant with your GP. They will then refer you to a midwife. Midwives can be based in hospitals or in a local surgery.During your pregnancy and labour you may see the same midwife or a few different ones. Some areas have a special midwife, or even team of midwives for under-18s. Click on your area below to find out what's available locally.
Your midwife will give you info, advice and support on things like looking after yourself during your pregnancy, decisions on the birth, relaxation exercises and so on. As well as info on other professionals who can offer you support both during pregnancy and after the birth.
Remember you can still get a sexually transmitted infection (STI) if you're pregnant and having unprotected sex, so it's always best to use a condom. If you want further info have a look at our contraception and sexual infections sections.
