Adoption

If you are pregnant but feel you cannot keep the baby yourself, you can consider adoption. This means that your baby will be placed with new parents, and you won't have any legal responsibility to them anymore.

You can talk this option through with a social worker by contacting your local social services, or if you already have a midwife they can put you in touch with the hospital social worker.

Talking it through doesn't mean you will have to decide on adoption. You will be given the chance to change your mind throughout the process.
